DR TERESA ESPANOL

Head of Immunology Unit, University Hospital Vall d'Hebron, Barcelona

Dr Teresa Espanol has been on the IPOPI Chair Medical Advisory Panel since 2002 and has been Head of the Immunology Unit since 1991 at the Hospital Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona.

After qualifying as a doctor in 1968 and gaining a speciality in Paediatrics at the Hospital Vall d'Hebron, she undertook Fellow Research in Immunology at the Institute of Child Health in London before returning as a consultant, having gained her PhD at the Autonomous University, Barcelona (UAB). Since then and concurrently with her work as consultant and Head of the Immunology Unit, she has gained Assistant Professorships in Paediatrics, Internal Medicine and Immunology at UAB
