Anneli Larsson is Chair and Consultant/Adviser in the Swedish organisation for Primary Immunodeficiencies (PIO) and Vice Chair of IPOPI, the International Patients Organisation for Primary Immunodeficiencies.
When Anneli's second child was born with a severe primary Immunodeficiency in 1994,she left her position in the marketing department of a Swedish oil company. Ever since then she has worked to raise political awareness on the subject of primary Immunodeficiency, supporting people with PID and their families, organising education/training and family camps, etc. Through her personal experiences she has learnt the importance of patient groups to raise awareness and to make it possible for people with chronic diseases and handicaps to partake in society as equals.
