MR DANIEL MANN
Health Information Unit, European Commission
Daniel Mann works as a detached national expert in the Health Information Unit of DG-SANCO at the European Commission. He works on projects that aim to produce comparable information at European level on health systems, including health care services and patient mobility, and on Health-EU, the Public Health Portal of the European Union.
Daniel was seconded to the Commission from the UK Civil Service. There he became Private Secretary to the Public Health Minister during the time of the publication of the Choosing Health White Paper and as the proposals to ban smoking in public places were taken through Parliament. Previously Daniel worked in various areas of the Department of Health, including managing the health and social care contribution to the cross-Government Spending Review for 2005-2008. He has a humanities degree from The Queen's College, University of Oxford
