PROF ANNA SEDIVA

University Hospital Motol, Institute of Immunology, Prague

Prof Anna Sediva is currently acting as Vice-Head at the Institute of Immunology, University Hospital Motol, Prague where she is focusing specifically in the field of paediatric immunopathologies, with an emphasis on immunodeficiencies. She also serves as a Deputy for Research at the University Hospital Motol, Prague.
Having graduated with honours from the Faculty of Paediatrics at Charles University, Prague, she specialised in allergy and clinical immunology. She received her PhD at Charles University for her studies on rheumatoid arthritis in children. Awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2000 and Professor in 2005 for her work on immunodeficiencies, she joined the Department of Medicine at the University of North Carolina as a Fulbright Scholar.

Her considerable experience in the field of paediatric care, ranged from local hospital involvement to University affiliated specialist centres. Her interest in the field of immunology was reflected in her pioneering work in paediatric immunology during the 1980s in the former Czechoslovakia. From 1992 until 1995,she was at the New York Medical College where her research focused on immunology prior to her return to the Czech Republic in 1995
