Rose and her sister Mae were very creative, if a little odd. The both had a shrewd, practical way of looking at the world and then turned it around to amuse themselves in the strangest ways. They had overheard a very grown up and hard to understand conversation about life insurance quotes and they started to re-enact their version of the story. They did this by getting three potatoes and assigning lines to each. This made sense to them because they had heard that going around without life insurance was half baked. People tried to explain it to them more clearly, but no one could seem to do it with a straight face. Still, they did manage to take away the message that it was important to get life insurance and to be well informed about the costs and overall medical conditions to figure out what the price should be.
